Kilimanjaro is a demanding mountain with climates ranging from lush rain forest, home to Colobus monkeys, harsh unforgiving volcanic scree to the defining snow-cap, this mountain is a delight to behold and a triumph to summit GoVertical's experienced team will look after you from tropical base of Kilimanjaro to the icy nights nearer the summit. After a challenging day of hiking, your tented camp will be set up for you & a freshly prepared hot meal served on arrival at camp.
THE MACHAME ROUTE - 7 DAYS ON KILIMANJARO
A taxing ascent of Mt Kilimanjaro, the Machame route is renowned for its spectacular scenery. Winding up the Western slopes of Kilimanjaro lush rain forest gives way to vistas of Shira, Kili's oldest volcano & Mt Meru in the distance.
Onwards & upwards through volcanic boulders, the huge Lava tower & giant Barranco Wall. A trek through boulder strewn desert with awesome views of Kibo bring us to the Karanga Valley & finally the last camp Barafu (meaning ice) before our midnight approach of Uhuru peak, the highest point in Africa at 5895m from Stella point.
Return is via the Mweka route on the Southern Slopes of Kilimanjaro. From Departure to the summit & back home 9 days total.
THE RONGAI ROUTE - 7 DAYS ON KILIMANJARO
The Rongai Route ascends Kilimanjaro from the North Eastern side. A scenic & less travelled route it starts out from Nare moru a farming area, winding Southwards through rain forest past natural caves & opening up to views of the jagged Mawenzi peaks.
With 2 nights at Mawenzi Tarn, you're able to acclimatize successfully while exploring the second oldest volcano on Kilimanjaro - Mawenzi 5149m. We then trek Westwards across the saddle & tackle Uhuru peak 5895m on Kibo via Gillman's point.
Descend via Marangu route the last night on Kili at Horombo camp. From Departure to the summit & back home nine days in total.

All you need to is concentrate on enjoying the ultimate African trek to Uhuru, the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro WEATHER - IT IS POSSIBLE TO CLIMB KILIMANJARO ALL YEAR ROUND December to February and June to October are the driest months on the mountain ACCESS Closest airport: Kilimanjaro Tanzania. Closest towns Arusha or Moshi. All GoVertical treks include transfers from/ to Kilimanjaro Airports, Moshi and the Park gates.
